Fundraising & Fund Advisory Committee
The Fundraising and Fund Advisory Committee assists in the building of the Associate Board’s Donor Advised Fund by soliciting support from Associate Board members. The committee is charged with reviewing funding requests from needy organizations for the Fund’s annual distribution. The Diocese has many projects that deserve funding.
Grants recommendations are made by the committee and the Full Board votes and approves funding decisions. The Associate Board’s Donor Advised Fund primarily focuses on grantmaking to programs that promote the well-being of children and families. Grants are designed to increase the strength and stability of families, increase caregivers’ confidence in their parenting abilities, and enhance child development, particular of those youth who families face adverse economic and social circumstances.

The mission of the Associate Board focuses on leadership development. The Board takes pride in the fact that they are emerging leaders who receive leadership experience and training from their experience on the Associate Board. It is the goal of Associate Board members to serve in a leadership role within the Diocese.
Leadership development activities are the responsibility of the Board’s Chairperson. The Chairperson is responsible for planning and executing leadership development training and educational events, making Board members aware of leadership opportunities within the Diocese and making announcements about Board members who have new positions as lay leaders. The Chairperson coordinates strategic communication to particular organizations that might have leadership opportunities for Associate Board members.
A scholarship program was initiated to support a few Associate Board members to attend a seminar on either nonprofit board leadership or fundraising hosted by an outside organization. This allows Associate Board members a chance for continuing education and networking.
